Below is a list of my care-taking services and the rates that I charge. Please contact me with any questions.
Babysitting/Private Childcare
What you can expect from me: I have been providing in-home childcare for children of all ages since 2006. I strive to provide high-quality care with a focus on play. Inside, outside, at the house, at a park, imaginative games, or board games, I’m all about connecting and learning through play. I bring my teaching skills and strategies into my babysitting practice, and I am confident and comfortable caring for children through any daily routines (bedtime, meals, nap, homework, chores), and in unique circumstances (trips to the pool, parks, the Science Museum, etc.; during playdates, birthday parties, community or school events). I am vaccinated against COVID-19 and up to date on booster shots. I am also happy to wear a mask around your children if that is your comfort level.
What I expect: First and foremost, due to personal health concerns I must limit myself to only working with families who have received their full COVID-19 vaccines (boosters not necessary at this time). If any child in your family is too young to receive the vaccine, I will remain masked in your home.
Let’s communicate about your children’s routines and responsibilities, household rules, and plans for field trips when I arrive at your house. Ahead of time, we can communicate about events or playdates that your child will be attending while in my care, as well as any allergies or medical conditions that your child is managing. Please provide an end time when we discuss care plans. Situations arise, of course, but please provide as much notice as possible if you will be unable to return by our established time. A lack of notice will result in a $3/hour increase to my hourly rate.
Availability:
- Monday-Friday: I am generally unavailable unless during school holidays. Exceptions may arise, feel free to ask!
- Saturday: 10am – 11pm. With advance notice, I may be available past 11pm for an additional $3/hr.
- Sunday: 10am – 8pm.
Rates:
I typically charge $17/hour. If this price-point is cost prohibitive for your family, contact me and we can negotiate or I can provide referrals.
Please keep in mind: I am a licensed Early Childhood Educator with a BS in Child Development, years of teaching and childcare experience, CPR and first aid certifications, and an up-to-date criminal background check as mandated by the State of NC for educators.
Pet-Sitting/House-Sitting
I have personally lived with and cared for dogs, cats, reptiles, rodents, and fish, but I’m comfortable caring for any creature. If you would like me to stay at your house during your absence I will bring in the mail, water plants, etc. I am happy to do this even if your pets are not the sort to notice my presence.
Rates:
- Overnight: $35/day
- Day only: $25/day
Rates may fluctuate with commute, number of animals, or special circumstances.
